Steamed Train Tours 11 Days 10 Night Tour Program (stmtt11d.rmp) Yangon-Bago-Bagan-Mandalay-Pindaya-Inle-Yangon With Chartered Carriage Day 1
Yangon Arrival Breakfast at the hotel, excursion to an ancient Mon and Burman capital of Bago, 80 km (1hr 30 mins) drive from Yangon. On the way, visit to the 'Htaukkyant' World War II memorial Cemetery with the graves of some 27,000 Allied soldiers who died in Myanmar and Assam campaigns of WW II. Visit of 15th century 'Kyaik Pun' Paya; huge reclining Buddha image of 'Shwethalyaung' Paya from the end of 10th century; over a thousand years old 'Shwemawdaw' Paya and lunch at 'Panda' restaurant. Return to Yangon and on the way visit of 'Terra-cotta Pot' industry. Dinner at the hotel, check-out and transfer to the Yangon railway station for the trip to Bagan in the private carriage fastened to the '25 Up' Yangon-Bagan Express train. Overnight on the train. Day 3 Bagan Breakfast and lunch on board and arrive Bagan in the evening. On the way to the hotel from the railway station, enjoy the famous Bagan sunset from 'Shwesandaw' Paya. Dinner with Puppet show at 'Sithu' restaurant and overnight in Bagan. Day 4 Bagan The whole day sightseeing of ancient Myanmar capital Bagan region from 10th to 13th century. Visit to the 'Nyaung U' market; the prototype for virtually all later stupas all over Myanmar, 'Shwezigon' Paya built of the sand stones from 'Tuyin' Hill; a cave temple of 'Kyansitthar Umin' used as the meditation centre decorated with frescoes and some paintings of Mongolian worriers which were drawn by themselves after the invasion; 'Htilominlo' temple with the fine plaster carvings; the ' Ananda ' temple which known as the most beautiful and famous architecture style and lunch at 'Sunset Garden' riverside restaurant. Visit of the famous Myanamr 'Lacquerware' industry and afternoon sight seeing around the Myinkaber village. In the evening, watch the incredible sunset view of Bagan's temples on the orange soil reflected with the last rays of a day. Dinner at 'Ruby True' hotel and overnight in Bagan. Day 5 Bagan-Mandalay After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the 'Bagan' railway station and proceed to Mandalay on the private carriage fastened to the '119 Up' Bagan-Mandalay Express train. Lunch on board and relaxing along the way while the train is driving in the central dry zone. Arrive Mandalay in the evening and transfer to the hotel. Enjoy the bird eye view of Mandalay Palace, City and environs areas from the 'Mandalay Hill' top. Dinner at 'Honey Garden' restaurant and overnight in Mandalay. Day 6 Mandalay-Mingun-Mandalay Transfer to the Jetty to take a local river vessel, 11 km upriver on famous 'Ayeyarwaddy' river for the 'Mingun' village. Visit of unfinished and the world's biggest pile of bricks, the 'Mingun' Paya; a gigantic bell of 'Mingun Bell' weighing 55,555 visses which was casted to dedicate King Bodawpaya's gigantic zedi; 'Myatheindan' Paya of Mt. Meru style with the beautiful terraces. Return to Mandalay and lunch at 'Emerald Green' restaurant. Visit to the upper Myanmar's trade centre, the 'Zaycho' market; the 'Mahamuni' Paya with the famous Buddha image confiscated from 'Rakhine' Kingdom which is known as the most sacred Paya in all upper Myanmar; the 'Tapestry' industry; Myanmar last Royal Throne of 'Myanansankyaw' Palace site;' Golden Palace Monastery' with the fine example of Myanamr wood carvings on which the famous King Mindon of Koungbaung dynasty passed away; the world's biggest books or 'Kuthodaw' Paya where the entire holy Buddhist canon was inscribed. Dinner at the 'Golden Duck' restaurant and overnight in Mandalay. Day 7 Mandalay Environs After breakfast at the hotel, excursion to the 'Amarapura' once known as "city of immortality" located 11 km south of Mandalay which was an ancient Myanmar capital of 19th century. Visit to the 'Pahtodawgyi' Paya dedicated by King Bodawpaya the founder of Amarapura; 'Bagaya Kyaung' monastery where King Mindon of Mandalay was educated; the world's longest teak bridge of 'U Bein' bridge and 'Mahagandaryon' monastery where over 8,000 monks are residing and studying. Proceed to Ava which became the capital of a Burmese kingdom after fall of Bagan, on the way visit to the Myanmar traditional 'Silk' hand weaving looms. Visit to the huge wooden monastery of 'Bagaya Kyaung' form early Konbaung period; the 'Watch tower' of Ava and 'Okkyaung' monastery built of bricks and stucco which was intended to imitate the traditional wooden style. Drive to 'Sagaing' and lunch at 'Happy' restaurant. Visit of silverware workshop; 'Kaungmudaw' Paya which is famous for its unique shape and visit to the monuments on the 'Sagaing Hill'. Return to Mandalay, dinner at 'Eternal' restaurant and overnight in Mandalay. Day 8 Mandalay-Heho-Pindaya-Nyaungshwe-Inle Lake Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the Mandalay airport to fly to Heho (25 mins). Arrive Heho, drive on the highly scenic Aungbaung-Pindaya road passes through the Pa-O and Danu villages. Lunch at the 'Conqueror' hotel and visit to the famous 'Pindaya' caves containing over eight thousands of Buddha statues which have been put there over the centuries and visit to the local handicraft workshops in a village near Pindaya. Drive to Nyaungshwe (round about 80 km from Pindaya), and transfer to the pier to take one hour boat trip to Inle Lake, check in to the hotel. Dinner at the hotel and overnight on the lake. Day 9 Inle Lake-Nyaungshwe Breakfast at the hotel, visit to the 'Jumping Cat' wooden monastery from the mid 19th century containing the modest collection of Shan, Tibetan, Bagan and Inwa styled Buddha images; Shan traditional cotton weaving industry; a walking tour around the 'Paungdaw U' village which is built on the stilts; the holiest religious site in the southern Shan state, 'Paungdaw U' Paya. Lunch at 'GIC' hotel & restaurant, afternoon visits of Shan traditional Silverware workshop, and Silk weaving industry at 'Inpawkon' village. Return to Nyaungshwe and transfer to the hotel. Dinner at 'Paradise' hotel and overnight in Nyaungshwe. Day 10 Nyaungshwe-Heho-Yangon After the breakfast, transfer to the Heho airstrip and fly back to Yangon. Check in to the hotel, visit to the 'Bo Gyoke Aung San' market and lunch at 'Shan Kan' Hong Kong styled restaurant. Afternoon, free visit around the downtown of Yangon by walking. Farewell dinner at the 'Green Elephant Hill' restaurant and overnight in Yangon. Day 11 Yangon-Departure Breakfast at the hotel, visit to the 'Chaukhtatgyi' Paya which is a huge reclining Buddha image; ' World Peace Pagoda', built to dedicate the 1954-56 Sixth Buddhist Synod, and the 'National Museum'.
