Drive from Kalaw to the trekking path
which is only 2 miles west of Kalaw. Then visit to Pein Ne\ Bin village, which
is about 1 hour walk from the main road, where some ------ families of Palaungs are
living. Spend an hour for watching traditional weaving, observing their ways of life and
religion. Return to Kalaw by using the same way until reaching to the main road, and then
drive back to Kalaw.
One day
Trekking to three Palaung tribal villages
(Nyaung Gone, Ywa
Thit and Tar Yaw villages)
In the morning after the
breakfast, starting the tour from Kalaw to Nyaung Gone village, where about three hours
taken to get there. Along the way, study the various kinds of pine trees, livestock
breeding of local people and tribal agriculture business such as tea plantation, sesame
plantation, Chayote vine yard, etc., Lunch at one local's house at Nyaung Gone village and
then trek to Ywa Thit (means New village) which is about one hour walk from Nyaung Gone.
Study Sebestian leaves plantation for cheroot manufacture, tea leaf making process and the
ways of their living there. Proceed to Tar Yaw village which takes only 15 minutes walk
from Ywa Thit and visit to a monastery, a primary school (if opens) and famous Palaung
traditional long house where six families are living together. Return to Kalaw (using the
other way) and on the way stop over at view point for the bird-eye view of Shan plateau
and drinks.

Trekking to Palaung, Danu and Taung Yoe and Pa O tribal villages
Day 1
3 hours trekking from Kalaw to Nyaung Gone Palaung villageFrom Nyaung Gone to Shwe Min Bon
Palaung village (1 hour)
Lunch before departing Shwe Min Bone Palaung village & visit to Ywa Thit palaung
village (2 hrs.)
Then to Tar Yaw palaung village (15 minutes walk from Ywa Thit)
Proceed to View Point, Dinner and overnight there.
Day 2
After breakfast, trekking to Hin Kha Gone Palaung village ( 1 hour)
Then visit to a Da Nu tribal village of Kan Bar Ni (45 minutes)
Visit the another Da Nu village of Myin Htaik which is one and a half hour trek form Kan
Bar Ni
Visit to the Taung Yoe tribal village named Pan Tin Gone (30 minutes from Myin Htike)
Proceed to Myin Saing Gone Da Nu village, while on the way brief stop at small Pa O tribal
village
Return to Kalaw and lunch at a restaurant near railway station
By making these trips, you may have a
chance to get experience of the way of living, traditions and customs of different
highland people as well as their agriculture, the natural beauties, flora, fauna and the
fantastic scenaries with fresh and cool air.
