Visa Passport : Valid passport & Tourist Visa is required to all persons visiting Myanmar. Visas for 28 days can be obtained from Myanmar Embassies and Consulates. Persons, those whose countries have not Myanmar Embassy or consulate, can obtain the visa upon arrival Yangon International Airport. They must send their passport particulars to the tour operators whom they contact in Myanmar. The tour operators will undertake the visa process before the arrival of their clients. This process must be started at least one month prior to the arrival date. The upon arrival visa fee is 18 US$ per person for single visit.

Customs : Jewelers, Electrical goods, Cameras and all Foreign currencies must be declared to the custom at the airport. Exporting antique and archaeological valuable items are prohibited. No limited amount of gems, handicrafts and souvenirs can be purchased but official receipt is needed for purchasing gems.

Health Documents : No certificate is required unless coming from infected area. Check with your doctor about necessary shots. Carry with you all prescribed medicines and drugs required, also mosquito repellent.

Clothing : Light clothing and comfortable shoes or scandals are recommended for warm and dry weather of Myanmar. Some light pullover or sweater will provide visiting around hill regions, where the weather is pleasantly cold. Visitors should not wear shorts or briefs when visiting Pagodas & monasteries.

Currencies : Visitors must exchange US$ 300 with Foreign Exchange Certificate (F.E.C) which is equivalent to US dollar, at the airport but this is not necessary for Package Tour Visas. However, those are easily expendable at the hotels and restaurants all over Myanmar.

For Credit cards and Travelers cheques are not widely accepted and hard to obtain cash in the country, visitors should bring sufficient cash.

Standard Time :  6:30 hours ahead of GMT.

Tipping :  Same practice as all over the world

Major Attractions :  Archaeological sites, Religious monuments, Scenic beauty, Hiking in the mountains to hill tribes villages , visiting around the country and markets, watching wildlifes in the natural forests, shopping Myanmar traditional handicrafts, gems and jades, relaxing at the beach resorts.
