Myanmar gems are famous throughout the world. Mogok is a town in Myanmar where most of priceless Gems are mined, lies in a beautiful mountain valley, 128 miles to the north-east of Mandalay, and 60 miles to the east of Ayeyarwaddy river. Mogok is a city of gems also the heart of the gem-zone and the centre of the gem trade. There are many mines producing high-quality and lesser-quality gems.

Myanmar Pearl manufacturing is located in the South Sea of Myanmar. In southern part of Myanmar, there is Myeik Archipelago, formerly known as Mergui Archipelago in the Tanintharyi Division. It consists of 800 islands and the total area is 25,600 sq. kilometres. Almost all of the islands were virgin lands and they have been well known since ancient times, because of their inhabitants, Pinctada maxima oysters. Now with the help of the latest technology, Tanintharyi Division is producing various pearl with better quality.
