Myanmar Games

The followings are some of Myanmar's traditional games.

Htoke See Toe

It is played by 2 teams, each consisting of at least 5 players. One team has to catch the members of the other team standing from each line, without moving away from it. The leader is able to move around the first line, main line and the triangular lines too. If one is caught from another team, then the turn to catch and run is changed.

 

Gulee

It is not widely known that polo game is a Myanmar traditional game.

 

 


Myanmar Chess

It is very similar to the international chess, but there are a few differences:

  • chief of staff instead of queen

  • elephant instead of a bishop

  • chariot instead of a castle

Myanmar Checker

Played by two players, one take the white and the other black. It is like chess but do not have specific items. All the items move in the same manner.
