Abeyadana Temple
info Abeyadana temple (အဘယရတနာဘုရား) was built during AD 1102-1103.
This Pagoda is situated south of Myinkaba village by the side of the tar road on the way to new Bagan city. Paintings are the true treasures of this temple. The temple was constructed during King Kyanzittha's reign. A local legend that states that the temple was constructed at the place where Queen Abeyadana waited for King Kyanzittha. Queen Abeyadana supposedly came from the Pattikera kingdom which was located in the eastern part of Indian subcontinent at the time. The delicate murals inside the temple are drawn in a Pala style, which was most likely done by artists from Eastern India.
